Greeting  a Muslim sibling (Paying Salam) is a sweet Sunnah of our Beloved Prophet Muhammad صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ. "What's more, when you are welcomed for certain words, welcome back with words better compared to it or with something very similar"

(Nisa 4:86)

The best words for answering to a Salam are the accompanying:

وعلیکم السلام ورحمۃ اللہ وبرکاتہ

فَلَمَّا خَلَقَهُ قَالَ اذْهَبْ فَسَلِّمْ عَلَى أُولَئِكَ النَّفَرِ مِنَ الْمَلاَئِكَةِ جُلُوسٌ، فَاسْتَمِعْ مَا يُحَيُّونَكَ، فَإِنَّهَا تَحِيَّتُكَ وَتَحِيَّةُ ذُرِّيَّتِكَ‏.‏ فَقَالَ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ‏.‏ فَقَالُوا السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ‏.‏ فَزَادُوهُ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ.

لاَ تَدْخُلُوا الْجَنَّةَ حَتَّى تُؤْمِنُوا وَلاَ تُؤْمِنُوا حَتَّى تَحَابُّوا أَفَلاَ أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى أَمْرٍ إِذَا فَعَلْتُمُوهُ تَحَابَبْتُمْ أَفْشُوا السَّلاَمَ بَيْنَكُمْ .

"You won't enter Paradise until you accept, and you won't accept until you love each other. Should I not guide you to something doing which you will adore each other: spread out Salam among you."

6. We should pay Salam to each Muslim sibling if we know him. Sayyiduna Abdullah Bin Amr Bin Al-Aas رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُمَا describes:

أَنَّ رَجُلاً، سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَىُّ الإِسْلاَمِ خَيْرٌ قَالَ ‏‏ تُطْعِمُ الطَّعَامَ، وَتَقْرَأُ السَّلاَمَ عَلَى مَنْ عَرَفْتَ، وَعَلَى مَنْ لَمْ تَعْرِفْ.

Somebody submissively asked in the court of the Noble Messenger صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ: "What Islamic characteristics are the awesome?" Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ said, "Feed poor people, and welcome those whom you know and those whom you don't have a clue."

7. We should make it a propensity to say Salam prior to beginning a discussion. The respectfull Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ said:

السَّلَامُ قَبْلَ الکَلَامِ

"Salam is before the discussion"

8. The youthful should say Salam to the old, the person on foot to the person who is situated, a little gathering to an enormous gathering and the rider to the passerby. Most respectful   Holy Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ said:

"The rider should initially welcome the walker, the person on foot the person who is situated, a little gathering a bigger gathering and the youthful ought to welcome the old."

(Muslim)

9. At the point when you enter your home, pay Salam to the occupants of the house. This makes favors go into the house. In the event that you go into a vacant house, say "السلام علیک ایھا النبی". Sayyiduna Anas رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہ portrays that the Holy Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ said: O child! At the point when you go into your home, say Salam as it will be a reason for Barakah (favors) for you and your family. Make a point to say Salam when you go into the house and furthermore when you take off from the house. Sayyiduna Qatada رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہ portrays that the Holy Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ said: "Welcome your family with Salam when you go into the house, and when you take off from the house, leave your family with Salam."

May Almighty Allah عَزَّ وَجَلَّ empower us to procure the favors of this wonderful Sunnah of the Holy Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ and spread Salam among our Muslim siblings!
